Departmental Awards and Fellowships   

A number of private gifts and endowments have made possible the institution of several departmental awards. A complete list, with detailed instructions on how to apply will be circulated later in the Fall. We stress that both academic excellence and activity and/or leadership in the student's clubs will be rewarded.

Of particular importance is the NSF  Robert Noyce Scholarship Program for Secondary Education Science and Mathematics Teachers.

This program supports individuals with backgrounds in Mathematics, Science and Engineering to become Mathematics or Science Teachers in Secondary Schools. Noyce scholars will enter the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program at the University of Arkansas. Upon successful completion of the State of Arkansas testing requirements the scholars will be recommended for initial licensure.
