Undergraduate Students
Become a mathematics major
- Do you enjoy tackling problems whose solution requires mathematics?
- Do you have a talent for mathematics, and do you want to expand your knowledge of the subject?
- Are you interested in learning how things work, and then explaining what you have learned to others?
If you answered ``yes'' to one or more of these questions, you should consider majoring in mathematics.
The University of Arkansas Mathematics Department offers a diverse and engaging program, with over 50 undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses to chose from, and two student organizations: the Math Club and Arkansas Women in Statistics and Mathematics.
The program, with about 120 Mathematics majors, is large enough to provide breadth and perspective, yet small enough to give each student the opportunity for one-on-one interaction with our faculty.
University of Arkansas mathematics majors have gone on to become successful professionals in a number of exciting career paths.
