Math Placement for Undergraduates
Every student at the University of Arkansas is required to have credit for at least one math course. The specific math course you choose and the total number of math credits needed will depend on your chosen major. To determine your initial math course, you will need to:
- Review the math requirements for your major
- Note, some majors require multiple math courses with a specific sequence to follow
- Determine your initial math placement using the criteria below
- Discuss your math course with your academic advisor
Requirements for Placement
At the University of Arkansas, we use these placement options for enrollment:
- Prior college credit to fulfill a pre-requisite
- AP , IB , or CLEP exam credit to fulfill a pre-requisite
- ACT, SAT, or ACCUPLACER test scores
- ALEKS Math Placement Exam
